Our Programs

What is A’s for J’s?

A’s for J’s is an academic rewards program sponsored by VILLA urban apparel & footwear stores and the iconic sportswear company The Jordan Brand. It encourages students to fulfill their full potential in core academic disciplines. For every “A” earned in Math, Science, and English, a student receives $25 credit on Jordan merchandise at VILLA store locations. Throughout the school year, program participants are given the opportunity to participate in various educational, personal, and professional development events and programs.

“VILLA and Jordan are committed to supporting tomorrow’s leaders achieve their dreams. We are excited and encouraged by the program’s continued progress in its second year.”—Patrick Walsh, Chief Marketing Officer, VILLA

We All Matter!

“I Matter” is about embracing your strengths and understanding why you matter as an individual. It is about self love, respect, and awareness. Through this campaign, we are communicating to individuals that even though we are all different, WE ALL MATTER! We want everyone to understand that what they do today will impact our future.

20% of the sales from the apparel go toward the “I Matter” scholarship which will help make education accessible for students in each of our markets. To date, we have raised and awarded $50,000 in scholarships to 30 graduating seniors.

Non-profit organizations and schools in VILLA markets may qualify for monetary donations and/or in-kind donations from the Join The Movement initiative.

Sponsorship awards must benefit VILLA’s target markets; potential grantees should be non-profit organizations with programs that benefit the communities within the service area of the VILLA store, corporate headquarters, or distribution center from which they are requesting funds.

VILLA and Join The Movement have identified three core areas of giving: (1) Education Support, (2) Environment Improvement, and (3) Economic Empowerment. To ensure that your application has the best chance of being funded, the proposed use of the grant should fit within one of these areas of giving. Primary consideration for the JTM Grant program is to support local organizations with programs that align with VILLA and the JTM initiative.

Selection Process

  • Applications are accepted and reviewed throughout the year in the order in which they are received.
  • Funding decisions are made based on the organization’s/proposal’s relevance in relation to our three core JTM areas.
  • Organizations will be notified of funding decisions via e-mail. All funding decisions are final.
  • If an organization is approved, grant checks will be mailed directly to the recipient organization’s address listed in the grant application. Please allow two to four weeks for delivery.
