
This weekend had more playoff games in the NBA & NHL and other events.
NBA: The Nuggets took a commanding 3-0 lead in the series with the Dallas Mavericks after Carmelo Anthony hit a 3-point shot with less than 5 seconds in Saturday’s game. They are only one win away from the conference finals. The Rockets lost Yao Ming with a broken left foot this weekend, but were able to bounce back and tie the series with the Lakers 2-2, after Aaron Brooks stepped up for 34 points in game 4. Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are one win away from the conference finals as Lebron scored 47 in game three versus the Hawks on Saturday. Finally, Boston tied the series last night with a clutch, game-winner by Glen “Big Baby” Davis.
MLB: The Phillies lost two out of three this weekend versus the braves, but Cole Hamels was the winning pitcher for the Phillies on Friday. Some scores from Sunday included: D-Backs 10 – Nationals 8, Giants 7 – Dodgers 5, Blue Jays 5 – A’s 0, Rockies 3 – Marlins 2, Angels 4 – Royals 3, Mariners 5 – Twins 3, and Yankees 5 – Orioles 3.
NHL: The Pittsburgh Penguins took a 3-2 lead over the Capitals this weekend. The Red Wings also took a 3-2 lead in their series versus Anaheim Ducks.
