Memphis survived an upset with a win over Cal State Northridge 81-70, LSU won a close one against Butler 75-71, Purdue past by Northern Iowa 61-56, Texas A&M looked good in a victory over BYU 79-66, North Carolina walked all over Radford 101-58, Maryland looked tough in a victory over Cal 84-71, and UCONN also walked all over Chattanooga 103-47. Other scored were: Washington 71 Mississippi State 58, Texas 76 Minnesota 62, Villanova 80 American U 67, Gonzaga 77 Akron 64, UCLA 65 VCU 64, W. Kentucky 76 Illinois 72, Oklahoma 82 Morgan State 54, Michigan 62 Clemson 59, Duke 86 Binghamton 62.Today will have the rest of the first-round games.
