This event was insane. We had customers come from Boston, Florida, North Carolina and New Jersey just to get a chance to purchase the Jordan XX3’s. I have to say, these sneakers are even hotter in person. Enthusiasm, and intensity was felt on 52ND street that night. Just to think,150 people showed up and only 23 left with sneakers. Some people stood in line four or more hours just to enter the event. Check out the video’s below to see for yourself.

I NEED A PAIR
January 17th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
I truly hope that this is the last release of Brand Jordan Air Jordan athletic shoes simply because the release of 529 pairs of shoes to millions of potential customers is quite absurd. Instead most Americans will be forced to pay rediculous prices to e-bayers to try to get an article of clothing for their feet. The tactic is to stimulate and motivate buyers but the fact that there will be “launch parties” prompts me to believe Nike is attempting to gain publicity. I also believe that they will release more copies of this very same style and color at later dates, such as the Air Jordan XVIII.
It is not my desire to redicule such business tactics, simply to state that millions of potential consumers will be at the mercy of a select few suppliers, and being one of these unfortunate individuals, it is my right to argue.

Will all 23 pairs be eligible from the drawing, or will employees get 1st cracks on the shoes, and then whatever is leftover be put into the drawing?

I would however like to state that I have been collecting Air Jordans sneakers since I was eleven years old. I personally I think that the shoes look great. The embroidery on the upper reminds be of the Portuguese Man of War Jelly-fish that is known to be a man-killer. However, I am not particularly fond of the interchangeable cushioning system because they hurt my feet when they have been used.

With the previous statement I would speculate that Nike will release this same model/color shoe throughout the coming year. An item is only of value to a person willing to pay for it. Nike will only initially make a mere $121,670.00. Thats proximal to a base price for a Rembrandt or possibly a Piccasso. I have faith that Nike will release them accordingly and that this “most limited†release is simply to build publicity.

Yo nunya,
sneakerfiles has ZERO credibility in my mind. They have nothing to prove what they said and a lot of trusted people who were at the event have come out and said that what sneakerfiles is saying is totally false.
just something to think about

youre right jean its like nike is getting at all the niggas this year with all this limited and exclusive crap they targeting the black community. 23 years is enough jordan .stop being greedy so you claime youre new jordan 23 is green freindly.ill like to put it to a few test. and yes jean im with the boycott
January 20th, 2008 at 12:58 am
Few additional comments. Sneakerfiles only has a drawing…not a prototype of the manufacturing and such details..simply a drawing. Not a reliable source.
I do not believe that Micheal Jordan or Nike have ever officially targeted sneaker sales to the black community. Yes there was a time when manufacturers such as Reebok and Nike spoke of increased sales in these market areas BUT I do not believe they specifically intend to discriminate within their market source.
As far as a boycott goes, that is a personal choice. A manufactured product requires materials and energy to produce a finished product. Historically, cottage industries and even a few select individuals have produced their own footware. Esseintially all these products have required resources from nature to be used. Maylasians and other ancient peoples have all produced footware using various resources…some including electricity…which is the same energy I am using to post this blog.
If Brand Jordan is claiming to have produced a “Green” product I would be highly interested as to how much energy was conserved and how the product is safe to the environment. This particular product, the Air Jordan looks exactley the same to Air Jordans dating to 1996 or so. But this is a highly volitile issue that will become evermore important as humans continually abuse the world (Earth) around us. Nuff sed. Ed….

yah sound real ignorant. boycotting a sneaker store giving you a chance to cop some exclusive Js. its the only place to cop them in the area. what should they do, have a line up for only 23 sneakers and watch a bunch a people kill each other when the door opens. jeans is probably no where near a sneakervilla. he probably mad cause he lives in kansas city and can’t get them. you sound like a baby.

After reviewing the photograph from Sneakerfiles I have deduced to reason that these are illustrations for a prototype of Air Jordan XX3 becuase of the date, 11/17/05. That was over two years ago. These are obviously depicting ideas that were intended for this Air Jordan XX3 release and not any future releases beyond. No-where in the drawing does it mention AJ XX4. Where this notion came from I am not sure.

In response to the selling of tickets to the luanch party for Air Jordan XX3 I am not sure if it is Nike’s policy. I believe that this is a promotion on behalf of Sneakervilla. Nike does have strict policies in regards to who carries what products. If Sneakervilla chooses to raffle the opportunity to an individual to purchase the sneaker then I would suggest to Sneakervilla to review their contract of negociation with Nike to ensure that they are within legal boundariees by promoting such an event.
As far as boycotting the shoe…if what you say is true I would mind you that they are permits required to have such activities. You should contact the attorney general of Plilidelphia so that you do not get arrested.

Yo, big up to the 52nd Street Sneaker Villa for a great release party. I’ve heard bad things about some of the other stores that got these such as charging way over retail and shoes being accounted for before the release by employees. But Sneaker Villa came correct!!!! Everything was smooth & organized and the staff showed everyone love. Nuff respect!!!
Peace.

Where’s all the photos that were taken of the 23 winners?? You’re missing a few GOOD ones………What’s up??
January 30th, 2008 at 1:00 am
I see a lot of people complaining cause they didn’t get a pair. I was lucky enough to be chosen. Sneakervilla came correct with the raffle and launch party, security was good and the escort to your car was appreciated. Now for the people saying Nike is just trying to exploit blacks with the Jordan releases. That is just ignorant. People of all races are into J’s.
Much respect to the villa!!!
