The Cavaliers have agreed in principle to acquire Shaquille O’Neal from the Suns for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, an NBA source confirmed late Wednesday night. The deal for O’Neal is the latest move by Cleveland in its attempt to build a strong supporting cast around league MVP LeBron James, who can become a free agent in 2010.
Last week, (Phoenix center) Shaquille O’Neal said, “I just want to keep winning championships. What matters to me now is seeing if I can help a team get a ring. The way (the Suns) were playing, running all the time, we weren’t going to win a ring. If we want to win it, we need to slow it down, we need to play defense and we need to get me the ball.”
Now the only question is will Shaq get a ring?

The Cleveland Brown’s Stallworth pleaded guilty earlier this month to a DUI manslaughter charge for striking 59-year-old Mario Reyes on March 14 while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, and reached a financial settlement with the family of the Reyes.Following his sentence, the 28-year-old Browns wide receiver must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation. The house arrest provisions would allow him to play.
The question is: When will the NFL let him play?
“The conduct reflected in your guilty plea resulted in the tragic loss of life and was inexcusable,” Goodell wrote. “While the criminal justice system has determined the legal consequences of this incident, it is my responsibility as NFL commissioner to determine appropriate league discipline for your actions, which have caused irreparable harm to the victim and his family, your club, your fellow players and the NFL.”
In the letter, excerpts of which were released by the NFL, Goodell said he will eventually contact Stallworth’s representatives before determining the length of the suspension.

With the type of team that we have, I think it’s important that we focus in on what we have to do in order to achieve that common goal, and that’s obviously to win a Super Bowl,” McNabb said that this past Friday.
McNabb and the Eagles came to a agreement late Thursday to restructure the final two years of his contract instead of extending his current deal. McNabb will collect $24.5 million over the next two seasons, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press. That’s a $5.3 million raise over two years.
I’m an Eagles fan, but I feel that we are spending all this money on McNabb when we could be using that money towards other star players to create a Super Bowl Dynasty. Well I can’t do anything about it now, I just hope my Eagles pull threw with a Championship ring. Go Eagles!!!!

The highly anticipated return of Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been postponed for the time being, due to an injury that will keep the boxer from training. According to reports, the 32-year-old former boxing champ damaged cartilage in his ribs and had to stop training for his comeback fight until a doctor says he can resume. The cartilage connects the ribs to the sternum, and can tear away after direct blows to the chest, other trauma or particularly violent coughs and sneezes.
Mayweather hasn’t boxed since knocking out Ricky Hatton in December 2007. He was slated to fight a rematch with Oscar De La Hoya, but instead abruptly retired last June. Mayweather’s fight against Marquez could possibly lead to a meeting against Pacquiao in the near future, if he wins of course.
