The talk show Titan Oprah will me calling the quits after 25 years on the air. The Oprah Show was and still is the longest running daytime talk show that has ever aired. She will announce the news officially on her show, Friday November 20th. Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav today said his company, which is partnering with Ms. Winfrey to launch the Oprah Winfrey Network on cable next year, expects her to terminate “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 2011, when her contract expires, to focus on OWN.

We are thrilled that ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ will continue production through the 2010–2011 season, its 25th year on the air,” CBS Television Distribution said in a statement. “We are grateful to Ms. Winfrey, her producers and all of our affiliates who remain committed to bringing viewers this exceptional series. We would certainly welcome and hope that ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ would continue in syndication beyond that, but that is a decision only Ms. Winfrey will be making.”

Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, has broken his silence since his November 12 sentencing.

“I have accepted full responsibility for my actions and I am ready to deal with what is in front of me right now,” Mane said in a statement. “Thankfully, my label is still moving forward with my album release so I will have plenty to look forward to when I get out. I am remaining positive and want my fans to know that I am grateful for their loyalty and continued support. I will get through this.”

Davis has been sentenced to 12 months in Fulton County Jail in Georgia for a probation violation. The rapper could get out of jail in 6 months or less, according to a statement by the court.

The NBA season just got the ball rolling less than a month ago. However, there has already been a major change within the league. The biggest so far is that the Memphis Grizzlies have announced that they have severed ties with 10-time All-Star and former league MVP Allen Iverson. After three NBA season games the perennial Hall of Famer is once again without a team. The two parties have called the transaction a mutual agreement. For those who don’t know Iverson began an indefinite leave of absence from the team on Nov.7 to deal with personal issues. There has been speculation that Iverson left the team due to lack of playing and the minimal role he was giving on a team filled with unproven talent. Iverson actions are parallel to what went on when he played for the Detroit Pistons last year; he refused to come off the bench. Iverson is a great player with a lot of gas still left in his tank. Even though, he is up there in age it seems as though he hasn’t missed a step. I think Allen Iverson needs to just comeback home to the Philadelphia 76ers where he achieved 99% of his greatness. He would be a breath of fresh air to the 76ers and bring more life to the city once again. However, all wishes don’t come true so we just have to sit back and watch which team takes a chance on the future Hall of Famer that transcended the game.

William was a guest of the home he was accused of breaking into. The house located on a horse farm in rural west Georgia, is owned by record producer Berry Hankerson. Williams has been living in the home for month, while filming a movie produced by Berry Hankerson. The police report states Williams had broken into the home with a crowbar. The police report also states that about about $3,500 in jewelry and collectable coins were stolen, which his lawyer absolutely denies. Hopefully, it’s all just a big misunderstanding and Katt Williams good to do some stand up about the situation, which would be hilarious.

Marcus Jordan son of the best player to ever play basketball Michael Jordan has cost his school’s basketball team their Adidas contract. Marcus Jordan who is following in the huge footsteps of his father refuses to wear Adidas, which sponsors the basketball team. Marcus Jordan who is famous for sporting one of a kind exclusive colorway Jordan models, has proclaimed that he will only wear Jordan’s when he plays for UCF. Marcus Jordan wore a pair of the “Rising Sun” Jordan’s for the first exhibition game and that was the last draw for Adidas. The controversy between Adidas and Marcus Jordan wearing his father’s brand of sneakers has been an ongoing issue. The issue has finally reached its closure, but I’m not surprised by the decision. The Kansas City Chiefs have finally come to a decision for the ongoing disruptive actions of former standout running back Larry Johnson. The team has finally come to the conclusion that his talent and distractions are no longer needed. At result he was cut from the team and sent packing. Then move comes approximately two weeks after Johnson made critical remarks about Coach Todd Haley via his Twitter. Also, he was guilty of using gay slurs in the team’s locker room.

Larry Johnson was no slouch at the running back position. Larry Johnson was a two-time Pro Bowler and second on the team’s all-time rushing list with 6,090 yards. He was 75 yards away from breaking the team’s all-time rushing record. However, a group of fans petitioned last week so that wouldn’t be allowed. It looks like it worked because Johnson was cut. Looks like another case of the star athlete letting his talent and ego get the best of him. Now, he has to see if teams will take a chance on what he left in his tank and the history he brings along with him.

Labron, who led the Cavaliers with 25 points, lost the ball out of bounds with 3.2 seconds to go after powering his way to the basket. Chicago’s forwards double teamed James and denied the superstar on a drive in the final seconds as the Chicago Bulls ended Cleveland’s three-game winning streak with an 86-85 win Thursday night. James led the Cavaliers with 25 points. Shaquille O’Neal had 14 and 10 rebounds and Anderson Varejao added 12 with 13 boards. But Cleveland’s offense never got into a flow and the Cavs didn’t help themselves by going 12 of 20 on free throws.

On Wednesday night, the New York Yankees rode one player…Hideki Matsui to their 27th World Series title with a 7-3 win over the defending champions, the Philadelphia Phillies. Matsui’s heroics came at just the right time. The Yankees had lost Game 5 in Philadelphia, forcing a sixth game at Yankee Stadium. If Philadelphia could win it, they could force a seventh and deciding game. Manuel says he expects to be back in the World Series next year. With Matsui becoming a free agent after this season, will he be playing for New York

Former Roc-A-Fella Records artist, Beanie Sigel, seems to be on bad terms with Jay-Z; thanks to a diss track he released last week. It seems as if he’s got another deal on the table … with 50 Cent’s G-Unit. 50 Cent appeared on Philadelphia’s Power 99 radio station on Tuesday (November 3) with Beanie Sigel, and made the announcement. “Beans is coming to G-Unit,” 50 said. While this deal is brand new, 50 revealed that he tried to sign the Broad Street Bully in the past, but Jay-Z blocked it. At press time, it wasn’t clear if the deal was official yet, or if they were still ironing out the details. But one thing is clear, 50 is interested and Beans seems to be as well.

Album leaks have been a problem that has plagued the music industry since the internet became popular in the early 2000s. Before it was just tracks that leaked, these days, full albums make their way to the net before their release dates. 50 Cent became the latest victim. This week Before I Self Destruct hit the net. On Wednesday October 28, 50’s upcoming fourth studio album leaked almost a month before its planned November 23 release date. So far, 50 or Interscope has not commented on the situation. On the new album, 50 gets back to his hardcore gangsta rapping self, spitting tales of drug deals, murder, guns, and of course, does a little name dropping along the way. In one song, titled “So Disrespectful,” 50 goes at former comrades-turned-enemies, Young Buck and The Game. On the track, he calls Buck a drug addict and The Game jealous. Eminem shows up on a track titled “Psycho”, where the Detroit rapper and 50 trade verses about how crazy they both can be. Aside from Eminem, other collaborators include R. Kelly and Ne-Yo, while production includes Dr. Dre, Polow Da Don, and Tha Bizness. While the album is already on the net, the version being released through iTunes will include three bonus tracks, 50’s directorial debut “Before I Self Destruct,” and the Jam Master Jay documentary, “2 Turntables and a Mic: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay.

The Phillies dominated the game from the start with great pitching from their ace Cliff Lee who is now 3-0 with a 0.54 earned run average in four postseason starts. He threw 122 pitches, and 80 for strikes. When the Phillies needed to score, they got two big home runs from their second baseman Chase Utley who hit one in third inning and one in the six inning off Sabathia. Who hadn’t allowed a home run to a left-handed hitter at the New Yankee Stadium all year. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been nervous playing this game,” Lee said. “I’ve already done the work - it’s game time, time to go out there and have fun and execute and let your skills take over.”

Antoine Walker former NBA stud and 3 point specialist has encountered some financial problems of late. According, to several newspaper and Internet reports Walker after making millions in the NBA is broke. In his 12 year NBA career Walker has made more than $110 million along with money coming from endorsements. During the last several months, the once millionaire athlete has been pursued by multiple financial institutions for unpaid debts. Walker owes approximately $4 million to debt collectors.

Walker financial troubles were brought to light in July, when he was arrested for writing bad checks to a casino in Lake Tahoe, California. Walker wrote $800,000 in fraudulent checks to the casino. Walker also faces felony check fraud charges in Las Vegas. All his financial trouble cannot be blamed on his obvious gambling problem; he supported about 70 friends and family members over his NBA career. I wonder if they will help him out in his time of need. This is a crazy ending to a once prominent career. I don’t know what the futures hold for Antoine Walker, but the VILLA wishes him the best of luck with his future.

We are all witnesses to the greatness of LeBron James. Arguably, the best player in the league today, he last left his mark within the NBA. LeBron is a freakish athlete standing 6’8 and about 260 pounds. Sounds like a football player, but he moves fluidly like a guard on the floor. LeBron has been a breath of fresh air to league and has put the NBA on his shoulders. LeBron is 24 years young and hasn’t reached his full potential and its going to be frightening when he finally reaches the segment of his career.

On another note, LeBron has left his mark within the fashion scene. Normally, people of his stature aren’t known for their sense of fashion, but LeBron has showed enormous people can dress. It’s not a secret that LeBron James is an avid sneaker collector. Antoine Walker has earning a reported $110 million over the course of his 13-year NBA career, but is now apparently broke. According to the Boston Globe, Walkern was in a Las Vegas courtroom this week to answer to charges of fraud for writing bad checks to different casinos, totaling $1 million. The Globe also reports that Walker also owes J.P. Morgan Chase Bank $1.5 million, Wachovia Bank $1.5 million, American Express $53,000, and his former agent $450,000. That’s a total of over $4.5 million dollars. Walker has yet to publicly speak on the situation.

To start off, Jay-Z won the BET Hip-Hop Awards MVP of the Year trophy, beating Lil Wayne, Drake, T.I. and Kanye West. Hov also opened the show with a performance of “As Real as It Gets” with Young Jeezy. A law firm in Atlanta is reported suing rapper Ludacris after he allegedly stiffed them on legal fees. According to Courthouse News, Carlton Fields P.A. is suing the rapper and his Ludacris Foundation for unpaid legal fees and expenses of $61,820. The firm is suing for the cash, and court fees.

Just days after news broke that DNA profiling was to be used in Lil Wayne’s New York gun case, the rapper pleaded guilty in court on Thursday (October 22). He admitted guilt for a loaded 40-caliber handgun found on his tour bus back on on July 22, 2007. Weezy faces at least 3 1/2 years in prison if he is convicted of the original weapons-possession charges against him. He’s due back in court December 15.

As it stands right now the Saints are the best in the league right now. They proved this by crushing one of NFL’s best team the Giants.The New York Giants, the team so many people thought was the best in the league, came into New Orleans and the Saints made them look like a lower-tier team. New Orleans won 48-27 and it wasn’t even that close. For the first time in a long time, they won a big game. “The more big games you win, the more big games you play in,’’ offensive lineman Jon Stinchcomb said. The Saints are about as healthy as any team. They’re also clicking everywhere on offense and defense. That’s why they’re the best team in the NFL right now.

The Lakers showed last year that they were with out a doubt the best team in the NBA. The team led by the “Black Mamba” himself Kobe Bryant, showed just how dominant they could be by winning the NBA championship. Kobe Bryant is the best player on the Laker team, maybe the entire world some would say. However, he didn’t win the title by himself; he was helped a great deal by versatile all-star forward Lamar Odom. The chemistry between the two played a pivotal role during their quest for a championship.

However, at a recent red carpet event for the opening Philippe Chow’s fifth namesake restaurant the two went head to head with fashion. Kobe Bryant strolled down the red carpet wearing the Nike Air Yeezy in the black/grey/pink color way. It’s safe to say that the Air Yeezy was the hottest sneaker of the year. Mike Tyson reunited with Evander Holyfield on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Friday (October 16) despite biting his ear off over a decade ago. They shook hands shook several times during their interview, which Tyson said was the first time they spoke in length since bitting incident. During Tyson’s first appearance earlier in the week, he said that the initial apology following the incident was not sincere. When he saw Holyfield this time, he didn’t apologize. Instead, he praised him.

“This is a beautiful guy,” he said, holding Holyfield’s arm affectionately for several seconds. “I just want you to know it’s just been a pleasure … being acquainted with you.”

Asked by Winfrey if he was still missing part of his ear, Holyfield pointed to it and said, “Just a little bit.”

You talk about biting,” Holyfield said. “I’m the person that bit every brother in my family.”

In an interview with BBC’s Tim Westwood, Wayne confirmed that the rumors that R&B singer Nivea is pregnant by him is true, and they are expecting a son.The child will be Lil Wayne’s third son in just over a year. Talking about a big family; Nivea is the ex-wife of singer The-Dream, and birth three of his children — a daughter in 2005, followed by twin boys in 2006.While Wayne has son with London, and another last year with an unidentified mother. He also has a daughter, named Reginae, with his ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Carter, and that’s not counting his son with Nivea.

In a game that started with temperatures near freezing and ended past midnight, the defending World Series champs took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. Players and coaches looked like they were dressed for a day on the slopes, but both teams were ready to get on with the game. While working on their next album “Instant Gratification”, the group revealed that they have added a new member to the group by the name of Rhea. She is the groups new singer. In a recent interview with MTV, Pharrell said Rhea’s addition to the group adds a “very 3D” aspect to their sound. N.E.R.D.’s upcoming “Instant Gratification” album is due out in 2010. Until then, they will be on tour with Jay-Z for the Blueprint 3 tour.

The Cleveland Browns have traded wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets. The Jets sent key special teams player Jason Trusnik, wide receiver Chansi Stuckey and a pair of draft picks to Cleveland. The Jets obtained a receiver who gives rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez the legitimate deep threat they have lacked. For his career, Edwards has 238 catches for 3,697 yards and 28 touchdowns. This joint venture with Interscope will allow Puff to release all of his future albums through Interscope along with the albums of any new artists that he signs. After having a meeting with Julie Greenwald (Atlantic Records COO) and Lyor Cohen (Atlantic Records Chairman) Diddy was able to retain the Bad Boy name.The first release to come out of the joint venture will be Diddy’s “Last Train To Paris” which is said to boasts features from Lil Wayne, Drake and T-Pain and is set to be released in April 2010.

Shyne was set to be released from prison on Tuesday (October 6), but it seem that his released has been postponed due to his immigration status. Officials are determining whether or not Shyne should be deported back to Belize, where he was born. It is unclear when the matter will be resolved. Stay posted for more details.

Rapper Shyne will be released from prison today, after spending approximately 10 years behind bars. Shyne, 30, was convicted of shooting a bystander at a New York nightclub following a dispute between Sean Combs and another person. Before his untimely incarceration, Shyne without a doubt solidified himself as one of the best rappers. Shyne will serve 2 years of probation upon his release. Rappers from all over are welcoming Shyne home with open arms. For example, Fabolous tweeted “Somebody gettin outta jail is like a Hood Holiday…Welcome Home Shyne Po… Brooklyn Love”.That’s good to see that he has people behind him that are supportive. Although, he is no longer signed to Bad Boy Records anymore, I would be on the look out for some new material from Shyne in the upcoming months. 10 years locked up behind bars, I know Shyne has some fresh material to talk about and will definitely put all these bubble gum rappers in their place.

According to Forbes magazine the prolific golfer has topped $1 billion in career earnings. With endorsements from Nike, Tag Huer, Gatorade, and income from his own business ventures. Mr. Woods has accumulated a great deal of wealth off the golf course. By, winning this year’s Fed-Ex Cup title, Woods earned a $10 million bonus, which put him over the $1 billion mark in his career. The feat is impressive in itself, but the crazy thing is, Tiger Woods is only 33 years young with a lot more golf in his tank. Tiger Woods has without a doubt transcended the face of golf and it’s safe to say that this is only the first billion for him.

Hypeman/rapper/actor Flava Flav is planning on another reality show. After three successful seasons of “Flavor of Love”, the 50 year old is planning on going back to high school, since he never passed the 10th grade. This should be very interesting.

I just want to show the world it’s never too late to get your diploma, and show kids they should stay in school and not wait until you’re old to get it,” Flav told Access Hollywood. “Everybody sees me as this big love mogul. Now I got a baby girl, I’ve been there and done that and now it’s time for the next episode.”

It seems that Flav’s show will help change the direction of reality TV, and help turn its focus to more positive subjects.

Unless you have been living in outer space it’s hard not to notice the obvious relationship between mega producer Swizz Beatz and songstress Alicia Keys. The pair has been spotted together on numerous occasions enjoying each others company. They frequently write love messages to each other via their Twitter pages expressing their love for one another. Swizz Beatz doesn’t hide his love for Alicia Keys and wears a chain with her initials. The two make a perfect pair, but technically Swizz Beatz is still married to Mashonda. As a result of Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys public love affair, Mashonda has now made it crystal clear that Alicia Keys is the reason why her marriage is over. Mashonda calls Alicia Keys as the other women.

Recently, after seeing a Twitter post from Alicia Keys page that was obviously referring to Swizz Beatz, Mashonda finally broke her silence. Mashonda from her Twitter page wrote a deep and informative letter to Alicia Keys discussing her dislike for the songstress. Within the letter, Mashonda blames Alicia Keys for destroying her once happy family, causing her so much pain with the affair, and for not being respectful of the situation between her and Swizz Beatz. Mashonda expected more respect from Alicia Keys and was rather disgusted by her recent Twitter post. Mashonda also wants Alicia Keys to be more delicate to the situation until the divorce is final. Finally, Mashonda blessed their relationship since it seems they are meant to be together.This situation is crazy and it’s never okay to steal another person’s spouse, but who are we to judge, this is definitely a topic to keep on the look out for. Owens tries to discredit Rodney Harrison’s career by calling him a cheater and player that cheated the game. Owens states that “U’re a loser & a cheater? Got any steroid … Hey Rodney! Bills coach Dick Jauron says he has confidence in his quarterback Trent Edwards and Buffalo’s struggling offense after T.O. was a no-show on the stat sheet for the first time in 14 seasons. Jauron wants to see a few more passes thrown in Terrell Owens’ direction.

After a month of dating, the Lakers’ Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian get married at a private residence in Beverly Hills on Sunday (September 27). According to reports, the ceremony took place at around 5:00 p.m., with Kardashian walking down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown on the arm of her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, with sisters Kim and a pregnant Kourtney at her side. New York Time’s best-sellers list last week consisted of 50 Cent’s latest book “The 50th Law book”, which is first in rappers history to ever make that list. This book is 50’s strategic advice on life and how to become successful. This book landed at #5 on the paper’s “Hardcover Advice” list, and in its second week the book fell three spots to #8. The book, released by HarperStudio, is out now and retails for $19.99, but, is currently on sale through Amazon.com for just over $11. I might have to get my copy.

Artist Eve also known as Eve Jihan Jeffers has shut down her clothing line, Fetish, for the second time. A few years ago, the 30-year-old artist put a hold on the launch of the “Fetish” line after a dispute with her apparel licensee Inovo Group. Then last year, she said she was revamping and relaunching the line for the third time. But you know what they say….third time is always a charm. Since then Eve has shifted to acting, she’s appeared in several films and even landed her own show on UPN, but it was canceled after three seasons. However, it seems that the collection is headed to failure, since she has shifting her focus back to music and acting. Eve is slated to appear in a new film called “Whip It” due in October, and in a guest spot on the Fox sitcom “Glee.” Also she is working with the Ruff Ryders to gear up for another album.

Ever since the unveiling of the new Nike air Max Lebron VII online, there has been a lot of buzz round the sneaker. From the design to the technology used, many say that this is probably the best Lebron signature sneaker to release. The use of the Air Max is for the first time on a Lebron sneaker is probably what stands out the most from the sneaker, but the use of the new Flywire technology on it as well, is relevant. Designers of the sneaker say it delivers maximum comfort and stability, which is key with any sneaker. Theis colorway is expected to release sometime in October. What do you think? I cannot explain what is going on with Brad Lidge, mentally or physically this season, but he seems like another closer than how he performed last year. This time last year, Brad Lidge was recording save after save for the Philadelphia Phillies as he went 48 for 48 in save opportunities, leading to a World Series title. This year it seems like he is just going through rough times as going into last night’s game he had already blew 10 save opportunities. Lidge entered the ninth inning with a 6-5 lead versus the Florida Marlins. He gave up a double and walked a batter, which led to the game-tying and game-winning runs. Lidge has 11 blown saves this season and is not looking good for the most important time of the season……playoffs. Hopefully he can get his swagger back in time for the post-season or the Phiilies will be in a little trouble if they are planning to repeat.

The people that run Apple’s ever so popular software giant iTunes seems like they might be in a little trouble. Eminem’s music publishing company Eight Mile Style LLC. is claiming that iTunes put 93 of Em’s song for sale on it’s online store without authorization. Eight Mile Style LLC. is alleging copyright infringement against Apple Inc. and since a deal was not agreed upon and the case will head to court this morning.

Rapper Lil Boosie has just pleaded guilty to his third offense of marijuana possession, which he was charged on Tuesday (September 22). He has been sentenced to two years in prison, but must serve at least one year before he can be released. He will be set for sentencing on November 9th. However, the judge warned the rapper to stay outta trouble while he’s free, or the agreed sentence would prolonged.

The economic stimulus plans looks like it is helping citizens of Pennsylvania since the beginning of summer according to an article written online for the Philadelphia Inquirer. John Barrett (49), Michael Volpe (61), and Randy Myers (32) were all unemployed before the package and are now all back to work. Even though some jobs are being created from the package, a lot of people still have questions on if the money is reaching those in need. Seeing the creation of jobs lets others know that the money has reached the street level, but is it enough? Philadelphia is set to receive $90.6 million from the stimulus package and even though many may feel like it has not reached “street” level, it has, it is just needs to be spent wisely so it is not being seen as fast as many would like it to. Even though The Blueprint 3 was leaked all over the web about 2 weeks it released and the album was on sale at retailers before the official release date, Jay-Z still managed to come out with another No. 1 album. The Blueprint 3 sold about 476,000 copies in its opening week, making this album Jay-Z’s 11th No. 1 album during his music career. The Beatles hold the record with 19 No. 1 albums. 476,000 copies of the album might sound like a little bit, but during these economic times, not a lot of music artists can do those numbers in one week, so congrats go to Jay-Z.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather’s big return fight is this Saturday (September 19). His opponent is Juan Manuel Marquez, in the HBO Pay-Per-View bout. Anyone that has seen the HBO special “Mayweather/Marquez 24/7″ knows that both boxers are training very hard for the big bout. Mayweather recently announced that WWE star, Triple H, will be escorting him to the ring for his big fight. Within the last year, Mayweather, has been involved with the WWE on several occasions, including the 2008 Wrestlemania where he fought the Big Show. A lot of people think that ATV’s are meant more for the country-side or areas where there are really no cars around. They are also meant to be used for extreme sports, such as during the X-Games, which is featured on ESPN. A specific neighborhood in Philadelphia has had an on-going problem with teens and young adults using them for all purposes, except what they are really meant for. Earlier this week, teens in the Kensington section of Philadelphia were blocking Hurley Street near Ontario and man driving a Mercury Sable honked the horn and yelled at them to move. When he did this, they started throwing objects at his car and chased him until he crashed into other parked cars. As the man was fleeing the scene, the group on the ATV’s and dirt bikes chased him and eventually ran him over. Residents in the area have complained about the use of these motorized vehicles because the teens using them also are seen using drugs, doing graffiti, and even drinking alcohol while using them. Hopefully the police can start a program to crackdown on these actions by the teens and stop these acts of violence.

Anyone that saw the MTV VMA’s this past Sunday knows that Jay-Z’s performance with Alicia Keyz was a great one, despite the actions of singer Lil’ Mama. She got on stage during their performance and was just bopping her head to the song and feeling for the moment. She was basically out of play and did not look right on the stage with the 2 stars. Lil Mama went on MTV News to discuss the situation and explain her actions. During the interview she said that she was “caught in the moment” and got on stage because Jay-Z was repping New York and she was feeling the vibe. After she got home and notice what she did, Lil Mama regrets it because she notice Jay’s reaction. So, Lil Mama apologized and even asked for a one on one with both of them.

For those that didn’t have the privilege to see the VMA’s last night. You have to see the video below of Janet Jackson’s performance which was dedicated to her brother Michael. This performance took the whole show. Trust and believe that when you finish the video below, all you can do is clap and smile. Janet really put her heart in this performance which is very emotional to watch.

Anyone that has any type of connection to TV, radio, or even newspapers probably already knows what happen last night at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. The nominees for Best Female Music Video were Pink, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Kelly Clarkson. The winner of the award was……….Taylor Swift. As she came on stage and was about to make her acceptance speech, here came little old Kanye West. He took the mic and said that Beyonce “had one of the best videos of all time.” He felt that Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” was the winner of the award. His actions were un-called for and a shame as Taylor Swift worked just as hard as anyone to win the award. He was actually booted from the award show as well. What do you think?

Jay-Z and Will Smith are among the investors in a new Broadway musical that will stages this November. The musical is about Nigerian singer/activist Fela Kuti. The rappers/ Actors are investing $11 million in Bill T. Jones’. Production of the play was halted over financial concerns, but the investment by Jay-Z, Will Smith and others are now making it a reality.

It has been nearly two years since Kanye’s mother past from complications of cosmetic surgical procedure. Well it seems that her death has not been forgotten in the state of California. This week California created a law called the “Donda West Law” which prohibit cosmetic facial surgery unless a physical exam is conducted 30 days before the procedure, and written clearance is provided.

Sixers, Nuggets, Pistons and now Grizzlies! Thursday (September 10), Allen Iverson became a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, signing a one-year contract reportedly worth $3.5 million. A.I. made $21 million last season in the final year of his contract. With Memphis, he’s taking a big pay cut, but the baller says it’s not about the money.

Anyone that missed last night’s game between the University of Miami and Florida State missed a great one. A lot of talk was behind Miami to see if the football program was back. The game kept going back and fourth and in the last quarter Miami was up by 4 points when Florida State had a final drive to win the game. Miami’s defense was ready to play and sealed the victory for the Canes. This was a great game and probably the best game of the opening weekend. Miami QB, Jacory Harris, threw for 386 yards with 2 TDs, 2 Int, and a rushing touchdown. Look out this week for Ohio State versus USC.

Over the weekend, auto-tune king T-Pain showed his true feeling about Jay-Z’s track “Death of Auto-Tune.” While DJ’ing at a club in Vegas known as Rehab, T-Pain went on the microphone saying F’ Jay-Z and that “he’s old.” Fabolous was also in the club and was tweeting about the situation and was not feeling it too much being that Pain was dissing someone from that reps Brooklyn. After T-Pain got off, the next DJ immediately played D.O.A. and a couple of other Jay-Z track during his set. This will be interesting how it unfolds.

Nas was ordered Thursday (July 23) by a judge to pay his estranged wife (Kelis) around $44,000 a month in child and spousal support. This happened just a day after she gave birth to his son ( Knight Jones). Just when you thought that was enough, Nas is also required to pay $45,000 in legal and accounting fees for Kelis.The couple have been going through this bitter legal battle over the past few months. It’s good to see that this whole scenario is all over.

Wendy Williams also known as the “Gossip Queen” has decided to quits her longtime radio career for television. On Thursday (July 23) Wendy stated that she would be leaving her daily radio show on July 31 to focus on “The Wendy Williams Show,” full-time.

Former NBA star Antoine Walker was arrested Thursday morning (July 16) inside the Harrah’s Casino in South Lake Tahoe. He’s being charged for owing nearly $1 million in gambling debts. According to local news station KVBC, the 32-year-old baller player had a warrant out for his arrest over $822,000 in gambling debts and faces three felony counts of writing bad check.

Apparently Wayde had a 3 year signed deal with Converse to revamp their basketball business. This Friday, Miami Heat basketball star Dwyane Wade has chosen to represent Nike’s Jumpman label instead. According to ESPN “Wade told The Associated Press that he inquired about switching allegiances from Converse to Jordan’s brand before the 2008 Beijing Olympics, doing so, he said, out of concern over Converse’s long-term viability in the basketball marketplace.”

“I took some of the tattoos off because on the movie set,” 50 told the site. “If we got a six o’clock call time, I have to be there two o’clock the night before. I gotta go through four hours of make up before we go ahead and play the role. So, I just took it off my arm. My right arm.”

Arturo Gatti, welterweight and lightweight Canadian boxer was found dead in a hotel in Brazil on Saturday (July 11), where his wife and young child were vacationing. His 23-year-old wife has been charged with the murder, while they stay in a northern Brazilian seaside resort of Porto de Galinhas.

The inspirational group known as the Black Eyed Peas are being accused of stealing a song from UK-based DJ and producer Adam Freeland without his permission. According to the The Daily Swarm, Freeland is accusing the Black Eyed Peas of plagiarizing his track “Mancry,” off his latest project “Cope”, for their new song “Party All The Time.”

The Los Angeles Lakers are on their way to becoming a NBA dynasty. They officially signed Ron Artest on Wednesday (July 8).

This was a long time coming,” the new Laker said. “As I started to compete against the Lakers and against Kobe [Bryant], I had respect for him and I always wanted to be a teammate of his.”

If you noticed, Artest was present court side during Lakers games during the playoffs, as well as their appearance the year before when they lost to the Boston Celtics.

Charles Barkley, made a donation to the victims of a wildfire at Lake Tahoe two years ago. He sent them a check for $90,000 this week. According to USA Today, South Tahoe’s Community Disaster Resource Center was shocked, especially since Barkley dropped a cool $100,000 just one year before, and officially proclaimed a “Charles Barkley Day.”

The fire cost the city $11.7 million to fight, said reports. Barkley toured the disaster area shortly after the fire and hosted a dinner for 100 firefighters.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Beyonce and her mother are planning to launch a new junior apparel label. The label will be called “Sasha Fierce” for Deréon, just in time for when kids head back to school. If you seen BET Awards, you probably thought Drake and Lil Wayne’s performance of his single “Every Girl” was a little disturbing. Well for those that didn’t get a chance to seen this performance, Drake and Weezy performed the track, while several underage girls danced onstage with them, one being Wayne’s daughter and the others her friends.

Drake admitted in an interview with Complex recently that he regrets the decision to bring them onstage for them performance. These are his statements: “That, actually…. to be honest….was a terrible idea that I’ll never do to myself again,” he said. “But I was being pressed from different areas to perform, and I think what really happened at the BET Awards is with the passing of Mike, the climate really changed, as far as the award show goes. I don’t think it called for us to perform ‘Every Girl’ and ‘Always Strapped’

“I think it was an award show filled with tributes and music and these genuine heartfelt speeches. And to sort of climax out of a very tongue-n-cheek point, and then people misconstruing Wayne’s daughters and her friends coming out on stage — it was just timed very poorly and it definitely wasn’t planned like that, but with that being said, it is what is.”

Despite the criticism, Drake isn’t worried about it hurting his career prematurely, but did offer an apology to those offended.

“I believe in Wayne and myself and it’s nothing we can’t bounce back from,” Drake said. “To anyone who was offended, my personal apologies, it wasn’t intended to offend anybody.”

Michael Jackson’s memorial details announced Friday (July 3), putting a rest of speculation of whether his body would be sent to Neverland Ranch for a public memorial. Jackson reps and AEG Live, who are hosting the event, stated that a public memorial for Michael would take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (July 7) at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

To be eligible for tickets, fans had to log on to Staples Center.com and register between last Friday and 6 p.m. last Saturday. On Sunday, 8,750 names were drawn randomly. The Ticketmaster will be distributing tickets and wristbands to those chosen today.

Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair was shot and killed in Nashville home this weekend. It is said to be a double homicide. Further details regarding the shooting were still unknown.

The Titans released a statement through its owner Saturday (July 4), sending their condolenses to McNair’s family. “We are saddened and shocked to hear the news of Steve McNair’s passing today,” Titans owner, Bud Adams Jr., said in a statement. “He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they deal with his untimely passing.”

When tickets for the last set of Michael Jackson shows went on sale in London, they sold out quickly. 750,000 people bought tickets for the 50-night “This is It” concert. According to reports, the promoters, AEG Live, behind the “This Is It” Michael concerts recorded enough material of Jackson’s rehearsals that they will be able to release at least one live CD/DVD.

The BET Awards ceremony last night gave awards to the best in urban music artist of today, but you could have mistaken the whole ceremony for a tribute show dedicated to pop star Michael Jackson. Jammie Foxx, Beyonce, Neyo, and more made special dedications to the pop icon. I totally understand how Michael contributed to the whole music industry. I do feel that BET might have over done it a tad bit.
During red carpet arrivals, Michael’s father Joe Jackson had a few words about his son as well: “I wish the world had recognized him when he were living. Right now he’s bigger than ever. But I wish he was here to see all this, to hear all this.”

Janet Jackson made her appearance after a Jackson tribute by singers Ne-Yo and host Jamie Foxx, who performed a somber version of the Jackson 5 classic “I’ll Be There,” as photos of Jackson flashed across the screen to close out the show.

The entire show was overall nice. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, I’m pretty sure it will be running all week.

The highly anticipated sequel to 2007’s summer blockbuster Transformers, has hit this week. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has a lot to live up to, as the prequel was the 5th most successful film of 2007 and set a lot of standards. The first movie was extremely popular for it’s never ending action and astounding special effects. This is the second movie out of a proposed trilogy. Reviews on various sites stated the movie was far, far too long; the film also proves that when it came to Michael Bay blockbuster movies, you can have too much of a good thing.

Music icon Michael Jackson, whose fame spanned from his childhood with the legendary Jackson 5 to a superstar solo career that earned him the nickname ‘King of Pop,’ died Thursday afternoon at a Los Angeles hospital at the age of 50. Brother Jermaine confirmed Jackson’s death from suspected cardiac arrest at a press conference Thursday evening. “It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known,” Jermaine said.

This is truly is a sad day. Michael Jackson was and still is a true inspiration to to us all. To his signature moves and hart felt music. It hurts our harts deep to hear that one of our long term icons that we grew up mimicking as children even into adulthood has left us. We at the VILLA want to send our prayers to the Jackson family and fans. Yet Michael Jackson may not be present on earth, his music will still live on.

The Cavaliers have agreed in principle to acquire Shaquille O’Neal from the Suns for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, an NBA source confirmed late Wednesday night.The deal for O’Neal is the latest move by Cleveland in its attempt to build a strong supporting cast around league MVP LeBron James, who can become a free agent in 2010.

Last week, (Phoenix center) Shaquille O’Neal said, “I just want to keep winning championships. What matters to me now is seeing if I can help a team get a ring. The way (the Suns) were playing, running all the time, we weren’t going to win a ring. If we want to win it, we need to slow it down, we need to play defense and we need to get me the ball.”

Now the only question is will Shaq get a ring?

The last days for GM are in effect. General Motors filed for level Chapter 11 bankruptcy Protection today. The company said it has $172.81 billion in debt and $82.29 billion in assets. A union spokesman at the GM plant in Spring Hill confirms the 2,500 employees there have been told the plant will be idled. As it reorganizes, the fallen icon of American industrial might will rely on $30 billion of additional financial assistance from the Treasury Department and $9.5 billion from Canada. That’s on top of about $20 billion in taxpayer money GM already has received in the form of low-interest loans. GM’s bankruptcy filing is the fourth-largest in U.S. history and the largest for an industrial company.

This weekend was fantastic for some and embarrassing for others on the MTV movie awards. Jim Carrey accepted his award for Best Comedic Performance in the movie “Yes Man”. Heath Ledger was awarded Best Villain in the movie “Dark Knight”. Eminem …..Yes Eminem didn’t receive an award, but a prank that’s too explicit for us to mention on this site. All I can say, is that it had him storming out of the awards with his whole entourage behind him. Besides that incident, The MTV Movie Awards was a success.

Kavya Shivashankar, a 13 year old girl from Kansas won the 82nd annual Scripps National Spelling Bee last night. The seventh grade spelling prodigy took home the crown spelling the word Laodicean correctly. Words she spelled correctly in previous rounds were “hydrargyrum,” “blancmange” and “baignoire”, and she did it with ease. She took home over $40,000 in cash and prizes, for a 7th grader that’s not too bad.

After dropping the fourth game of the series to the Magic to go down 1-3 in the series, the Cav’s bounce back facing elimination in game 5.  After taking a commanding 17 point lead after the first quarter, it looked like the Cav’s came ready to play.  Despite scoring 35 points in the opening quarter, the Magic battled back to cut the lead to 1 by halftime.  The Magic were playing well and were poised to win the game and end Cleveland’s season, but the Cav’s held on to win the game by a count of 112-102.  The Cavaliers started the game great and were not able to maintain the lead, and that seems to be the storyline of this series.  Game 6 will be Saturday at 8:30 in Orlando.
