Yes….you read it right! VILLA has a water ice truck all summer long and will be visiting neighborhoods around its stores and hitting up other key events, selling water ice for ONLY $.20 cents. This initiative is to celebrate VILLA’s 20th Anniversary. During the week, the truck will be at The Chosen League at Cherashore Playground (10th & Onley) from 7pm to 9pm. This will be an exciting summer for VILLA, so keep your eyes open for VILLA’s 20th Anniversary Water Ice Truck coming to a neighborhood near you!

Our release of the third Air Yeezy was crazy!!!  If you were in line for three nights to buy these sneaks, you were treated to a surprise Midnight Launch.  At midnight, the brave, true sneaker lovers were ushered into VILLA’s 52nd Street location in complete darkness.  After following the glow in the dark footsteps up the stairs, the crew saw a wall of Air Yeezy’s glowing in the dark– organized by size.  One by one, each person selected their sneakers until there were none left.  It was a great time.  We hope that everyone had as much fun as the VILLA team.  Shout out to Kyle and Jeff for being the first two in line (again), waiting since 8am on Wednesday for the Yeezys.  Congrats to those that won the glow in the dark rug and posters.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Yeezy’s in Cleveland 6.20.09:

For all of you cats close to Cleveland or just looking for the Yeezy’s at retail price, VILLA is opening its vault and selling the Yeezy’s at the newest VILLA location.  VILLA’s first Cleveland store, located at Lee Harvard Plaza (4071 Lee Road), will be selling the Yeezy’s on June 20.  Click the following linkd for more details: www.ruvilla.com/main/promotions/yeezy-launch-in-cleveland.

GM BANKRUPTCY PROTECTION

1. June 2009

The last days for GM are in effect. General Motors filed for level Chapter 11 bankruptcy Protection today. The company said it has $172.81 billion in debt and $82.29 billion in assets. A union spokesman at the GM plant in Spring Hill confirms the 2,500 employees there have been told the plant will be idled. As it reorganizes, the fallen icon of American industrial might will rely on $30 billion of additional financial assistance from the Treasury Department and $9.5 billion from Canada. That’s on top of about $20 billion in taxpayer money GM already has received in the form of low-interest loans. GM’s bankruptcy filing is the fourth-largest in U.S. history and the largest for an industrial company.

THE GAME - THE R.E.D. ALBUM

Looks like The Game’s talk of retirement was all talk. He is apparently talking about his new album, The R.E.D. Album. This would be his fourth studio album to released as a major artist. Some may think that the title of the album may be gang-related, but Game says to MTV that it is a rededication to hip-hop and his hood, Compton. Game wants to elevate his rap game and this new album will be his chance to do so. No word on release is set, but look out for tracks.

ORLANDO FORCES A GAME 7

15. May 2009

Well Orlando looked out of it after what happened from game 5. Game 6 in Orlando was another story. Dwight Howard got the ball, like he was complaining about after game 5, and had 23 points and 22 rebounds in the 83-75 victory over the Boston Celtics last night. Rashard Lewis had 20 points and Hedo Turkoglu had a key 3-point shot to seal the deal for Orlando. So there now is a game 7 for this weekend. Being that game 7 is going to be in Boston, I have a feeling Boston might take it and would be surprised is Orlando stuns them.
