The release of Jay-Z ’s “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” on Blueprint 3, T-Pain was offended. He later insulted Jay-Z during a show in Las Vegas. Recently, T-Pain spoke on the subject and noted that the feud is over.

“We talked at the Grammys,” he recently told MTV. “It was a pretty big thing. Word for word, he said, ‘That’s messed up the way you took that song.’ I’m a [crazy] dude, so we gonna take the song like that. That’s how we take songs. He was like, ‘I didn’t mean nothing by that.’ I was like, ‘I already put out my apology song ["More Careful"]. So there you go. My bad. I apologize. Apologize for taking the song like that.’ We shook hands, did the little chest bump. That was the end of that.”

Reality TV star Joseph “Jo Jo” Simmons recently dropped his debut mixtape, titled Most Improved Player under his rap name, Young Simmons. The rapper, son of rap legend Joseph “Reverend “Run” Simmons, teamed with DJ Spin King to drop the 21-track mixtape under the name Young Simmons.

Young Simmons tackles the issue of his family’s fame on “Related to Russell” and addresses his arrest for possession of marijuana in May 2009, over Waka Flocka Flames’ “O Let’s Do It.”

Back in October of 2007, T.I was arrested for gun possession which led to the rapper going to prison in May of last year. After serving his sentence in Arkansas, T.I. was released in the final week of 2009 and has returned to his home state of Georgia where he resided in a halfway house.

This week it’s been revealed that T.I. will likely be a free man this month. T.I.’s legal team says that he’ll be released from the halfway house on March 26, 2010.

 We all herd the word on Lupe Fiasco third album “Lasers”. Now it has been revealed that he’s working on his first book. According to TheBoomBox.com, Fiasco told New Zealand press that becoming an author was always a part of his plan.

I started off as a writer,” the Chicago rapper told 3News New Zeleand. “You know, since I was a little kid, I’ve been telling stories and actually hip-hop has just been an extension of me telling stories. So putting it in a more traditional form as far as a book has always been a part of the plan.”

The books title has not been released yet.

This isn’t the first time Drake’s likeness has been used for fraudulent purposes. Last June, a fake Drake album was made available through online retailers for purchase, though the Toronto rapper had nothing to do with it.

According to rumors that happened to hit the NY Post, Keys and Swizz purchased the New York penthouse from Lenny Kravitz for a reported $14.5 million. Also sources told US Magazine that Swizz surprised Keys with a 7-carat rock while they were in Hawaii celebrating the singer’s birthday….WOW! Stuck in a contract with G-Unit, Buck says he wants to talk to 50 cent Face to face. Despite dissing him on a recently released record.

Hard work pays off for Beyonce and Jay-Z, who seem to be the super couple that earned the most money last year, raking in $122 million combined. The couple also made last year’s Forbes list with a combined earning of $162 million. This couple success comes from their respective albums such as I Am…Sasha Fierce and The Blueprint 3, which the pair also owns clothing lines, tours around the world, and are the faces of several brands. Lets give it up to Jay-Z & Beyonce.

This year started off with Jay-Z premiered his Swizz Beatz-assisted video, “On To The Next One.” 1. Soon after, people took different messages from the video and wondered if the idea of the images from the video were in reference to the occult or other secret societies. One of the images in question was a Crucifix placed between two bullets (see below). In a recent interview with Ed Lover, Jay-Z spoke on the mild uproar.

“I got a lot of money,” Jay-Z offered. “You know when people get a lot of money, they start getting those rumors like Tom Cruise and Will Smith. That’s ridiculous; that’s crazy to me.”

After again denying any kind of occult affiliation, Jay-Z added, “I think I need to remind people I’m from Marcy Projects. You can’t get into those prestigious clubs. I can’t even get into the golf club in Palm Springs.”

Yes, Street Fighter Fans, it has been confirmed. Part four will be hitting the market this year, but with a new name, “Super Street Fighter IV”. There has also been talk of an improved online experience as well. Producer Yoshinori Ono says that every character has been changed slightly based on comments from both players. Which begs the question: why an all-new title, and not just a range of DLC? Ono says the changes are so extensive that they couldn’t just be tacked on, so a disc release was necessary. This hot game will be hitting store in Spring 2010 for the PS3 and 360. Check out the video below.

            On January 3, 2010 at St. Joe’s Hagan Arena, VILLA hosted our third annual basketball event.  This year we went bigger with the 4,000 seat arena at St. Joe’s University.  The venue change was definitely different because this wasn’t in the heart of the city anymore, but the fans definitely came out for this great event.  We had 4 great matchups between some of the East Coast’s best high school basketball teams, and saw a sneak preview of Jayvaughn Pinkston (from New York’s Bishop Loughlin), who will be playing for Villanova later this year.  If that wasn’t enough we had some great performances by Philly’s own Meek Mill, and the New Boyz.  Shout out to everyone that came through, and for those of you that missed it, you’ll just have to hear about it until next year’s event.  You can also watch the buzzer beater from the final game, Strawberry Mansion and North Catholic.  Click on the link below:

The popular animated series “The Boondocks” is set to return to TV in the New Year, its creator Aaron McGruder said. The popular yet controversial comic strip-turned-cartoon debuted in 2005 on the Cartoon Network and ran for two seasons before its end. During the second season of “The Boondocks”, two episodes were banned without any official word from the network. According to reports, the banned episodes were heavily critical of BET. A source told HipHopDX at the time that BET had been pressured Sony (the studio behind The Boondocks) to ban the episodes and threatened legal action.

This movie is a remake of the original 1984 movie “The Karate Kid”. This movie features Jackie Chan as the wise kung-fu master. His young disciple in “Kung Fu Kid” will be played by Jaden Smith, the son of Hollywood superstars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Check out the trailer below.

Amazon leaked LIL Wayne’s Rebirth Album six weeks before the album was slated to drop. The mix-up has resulted in digital copies being pirated across the web.While further details were unknown, it’s likely LIL Wayne will head back into the studio to record new material for the upcoming album or even include tracks already in the vaults yet to be released. With that being said will the the Rebirth Album be pushed back for the seventh time or will the release date still be February 1st.

On Tuesday (December 15), Lil Wayne was sitting in a New York courtroom where a judge set a February 9th date for the rapper to be sentenced. For you guys that are not in the loop to why he is prison. Weezy (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) pleaded guilty attempted criminal possession of a weapon in October, stemming from a 2007 arrest following a Manhattan concert. While Wayne is in prison his business endeavors will proceed; Wayne’s “Rebirth” album is set to drop February 1.

In a recent interview with MTV, Timbaland states that he’s done with making hip-hop music, explaining that his core-audience watches “Desperate Housewives.” It seems he’s already begun the transition on his latest album “On Shock Value II.” He has also moved towards enlisting pop stars such as Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, and Miley Cyrus. Despite the change of direction, the sequel hasn’t sold as well as the original, which hit platinum sales and topped the charts around the world.

It is said that Big Boi will not be making the label change to Def Jam after all. Last summer Big Boi stated in an interview with Toronto’s Eye Weekly that it was only a matter of time before all the paperwork with Def Jam would be completed. “The lawyers just have to finish their lawyering,” he stated. XXL reports Big Boi is still with Jive. His often-delayed album “Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty” is now scheduled to be released in February 2010.

Fans have been awaiting for years, for the The Lox to drop another album. Sheek touched on the progress recently, revealing that he and his group members have been working with Diddy, trying to hash out a deal where the project would be release via D-Block and Bad Boy Records. In a recent interview with Power 99, Jadakiss weighed in on the Lox reunion. “Our main focus right now is that Lox album,” Jada stressed. “It might be coming out through Diddy, it might be coming out through some other people, but it’s going down.”

While speaking with MTV recently, Diddy expressed his interest in working with his former label-mates again.

“I would definitely love to do the next Lox album,” Diddy said. “I would love to collaborate with them. I think it’s important just to do … I would look forward to it … We been talking about it.”

Nas was apparantly busted on a DUI charge back in September and was later released. According to TMZ, the rapper Nas was riding with his brother in Georgia in September, during a routine stop, police smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle, and asked Nas to step out of the vehicle. He then performed a field sobriety test on Nas, which he failed and was subsequently arrested. While TMZ says he was cleared of the charges, other reports indicate that Nas is scheduled to appear in court at a future date. Chec k out the video below

Although she’s been going through a bitter divorce with Nas, Kelis is ready to get back in the studio. Kelis announced this week that she’s signed with the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am, and his Interscope distributed label, Will.I.Am Music Group, where she’ll be releasing her next album. To start things off, Kelis has just unleashed a brand new track, produced by David Guetta, called “Acapella.” The track is currently available on her website, IAmKelis.com.

One of Jay-z’s most famous songs of historic rap career was a song titled “Money Ain’t Thang” where he raps about splurging and living the good life. Apparently, this most apply to Diddy, as well. The legendary music mogul and music icon recently turned 40 years old. However, Diddy turned 40 by spending $3 million on a birthday party. Yes, VILLA people $3 million in one night just for a birthday party. I know all of us could have put that money to better use, but it’s his money.

Why was it worth $3 million you ask? The party was champagne flooded; only the finest bottles of champagne were being popped at Diddy 40th extravaganza. The party was at the Plaza and only 500 specially invited guests were allowed to party with Diddy. Diddy created a fantasy garden of Eden themes room, with a $30,000 orchid display. Also, Diddy installed his own black dance floor and black chandelier, which were both costly. The party seemed like it was nice but $3million is a lot for party. He could have thrown a modest party, but we all know Diddy likes to spend the Benjamin’s. My VILLA people would you throw a party that cost an NBA contract?

According to TMZ, Thunder Promotions filed a lawsuit against the rapper last week, claiming fraud. DMX was scheduled to fight in a boxing match on December 12th in Birmingham, Alabama, but according to the promotions company, he backed out, because they refused to fix the fight. Although Coolio has stepped in to replace him, rapper’s manager Nakia Walker told TMZ that the rapper really does want to fight, fixed or not, but she’s forcing his hand, because “he’s a hip hop artist, not a boxer.”

Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, has broken his silence since his November 12 sentencing.

“I have accepted full responsibility for my actions and I am ready to deal with what is in front of me right now,” Mane said in a statement. “Thankfully, my label is still moving forward with my album release so I will have plenty to look forward to when I get out. I am remaining positive and want my fans to know that I am grateful for their loyalty and continued support. I will get through this.”

Davis has been sentenced to 12 months in Fulton County Jail in Georgia for a probation violation. The rapper could get out of jail in 6 months or less, according to a statement by the court.
