KANYE A NO SHOW AT BET AWARDS

Kanye West was up for 9 nominations at the 4th Annual BET Hip Hop Awards Saturday evening (October 10), but was a Kanye West was a no-show. Some say it was because of the MTV incident, but nothing confirmed that accusation to be true. As for other no-shows, T.I. couldn’t attend due to prison time, but In his absence, his fiancee Tameka “Tiny” Cottle accepted his awards.

N.E.R.D. ADDS NEW MEMBER TO GROUP

While working on their next album “Instant Gratification”, the group revealed that they have added a new member to the group by the name of Rhea. She is the groups new singer. In a recent interview with MTV, Pharrell said Rhea’s addition to the group adds a “very 3D” aspect to their sound. N.E.R.D.’s upcoming “Instant Gratification” album is due out in 2010. Until then, they will be on tour with Jay-Z for the Blueprint 3 tour.

PUFF JOINS INTERSCOPE

Puff, Bad Boy CEO’s deal with Warner Music Group came to an end, and now he has decided to sign a deal with Interscope. This joint venture with Interscope will allow Puff to release all of his future albums through Interscope along with the albums of any new artists that he signs. After having a meeting with Julie Greenwald (Atlantic Records COO) and Lyor Cohen (Atlantic Records Chairman) Diddy was able to retain the Bad Boy name.The first release to come out of the joint venture will be Diddy’s “Last Train To Paris” which is said to boasts features from Lil Wayne, Drake and T-Pain and is set to be released in April 2010.

FLAVA FLAV BACK IN SCHOOL

Hypeman/rapper/actor Flava Flav is planning on another reality show. After three successful seasons of “Flavor of Love”, the 50 year old is planning on going back to high school, since he never passed the 10th grade. This should be very interesting.

I just want to show the world it’s never too late to get your diploma, and show kids they should stay in school and not wait until you’re old to get it,” Flav told Access Hollywood. “Everybody sees me as this big love mogul. Now I got a baby girl, I’ve been there and done that and now it’s time for the next episode.”

It seems that Flav’s show will help change the direction of reality TV, and help turn its focus to more positive subjects.

MASHONDA’S OPEN LETTER TO ALICIA KEYS

Unless you have been living in outer space it’s hard not to notice the obvious relationship between mega producer Swizz Beatz and songstress Alicia Keys. The pair has been spotted together on numerous occasions enjoying each others company. They frequently write love messages to each other via their Twitter pages expressing their love for one another. Swizz Beatz doesn’t hide his love for Alicia Keys and wears a chain with her initials. The two make a perfect pair, but technically Swizz Beatz is still married to Mashonda. As a result of Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys public love affair, Mashonda has now made it crystal clear that Alicia Keys is the reason why her marriage is over. Mashonda calls Alicia Keys as the other women.

Recently, after seeing a Twitter post from Alicia Keys page that was obviously referring to Swizz Beatz, Mashonda finally broke her silence. Mashonda from her Twitter page wrote a deep and informative letter to Alicia Keys discussing her dislike for the songstress. Within the letter, Mashonda blames Alicia Keys for destroying her once happy family, causing her so much pain with the affair, and for not being respectful of the situation between her and Swizz Beatz. Mashonda expected more respect from Alicia Keys and was rather disgusted by her recent Twitter post. Mashonda also wants Alicia Keys to be more delicate to the situation until the divorce is final. Finally, Mashonda blessed their relationship since it seems they are meant to be together.This situation is crazy and it’s never okay to steal another person’s spouse, but who are we to judge, this is definitely a topic to keep on the look out for.
