For the second year, VILLA supported the Art-Reach T-shirt Design competition. Students from William Penn High School in Philadelphia were trained in silk screen design by the Fabric Workshop and Museum. Each student created an original design with an anti-violence theme. Grand Prize Winner Terrell Garner received a $500 award and licensing fee. Terrell’s T-shirt will be sold at VILLA’s Broad Street location. All proceeds will go to Philadelphia Academies a non-profit organization focused on expanding life and economic options for Philadelphia public school students through career-focused programming that prepares young people for employment and post-secondary education.
